On Friday, markets got off to a sluggish start as most of the major stock indexes in Asia and Europe and the majority of nonferrous metal prices in London were in negative territory this morning. In early trading, LME 3-mo. copper and aluminum were reportedly down around $6,975/mt (=$3.164/lb.) and $1,785/mt (=81 cents/lb.), respectively, while 3-mo. lead, zinc and tin also posted modest losses early on. In foreign exchange trading, the dollar was little changed this morning around $1.346 against the Euro and 100.34 Japanese Yen, while gold futures were holding below $1,285/to. Markets will be paying attention to U.S. industrial production and capacity utilization figures due out later this morning, with most analysts predicting that industrial output and manufacturing posted only modest gains in October…
